A strand of green Sandcast Recycled Glass Beads strung on string 24" long. The beads are around 4 mm round. These recycled glass beads were handcrafted in Ghana, Africa by crushing old, discarded glass, adding colorant and then pouring the powder into clay molds. The stem of a local plant is added, this burns away during firing, leaving a hole for stringing. These tiny beads are the most labour intensive. There are two sizes for this colour as you will see in the photo. This strand is the smaller beads. The beads are fired in a woodburning earthen oven. Ghana is famous for this type of bead. -

A large gorgeous Silver Coin Metal Mali squashed Bicone Bead. The bead will be 27-29 mm x 20 -21 mm. These beads are handmade so will vary in size and shape. The bead you will receive will be similar to the one in the photo. These beads were found in Koforidua Market in Ghana. The Mali Coin Beads are said to be made of recycled old coins in Mali. Hence the name. These beads have the solidity and heft of old coins. There is delicate engraving on each bead. These beads are getting harder to find especially ones of this quality. The Traders blame this on Mali's difficulties. -
