The medium sized Brass Globe Beads handmade in Nigeria and traded in Ghana, W.Africa. These beads have a special rough hewn look and are about 20 mm in diameter with a large 4mm hole. Please note the beads are handmade and the imperfections are part of the character of the bead. The 30 beads are strung on raffia about 28" long. 100 Small brass coin metal Mali squashed bicone beads that are approx. 11-14 mm by 5-8 mm. Please note that these beads are made by hand out of recycled metal and will vary in shape and size. These beads were found for Funky Frog by Hidir, a favourite Trader in Koforidua, Ghana. These Mali Coin beads especially the brass beads are getting harder to find... This type of African mask is a Baule mask which is also known as a Goli mask. It is used in tribal dances during harvest festivals, in processions to honour distinguished visitors and at the funerals of important figures. The Baule are farmers who are part of the Akan people, which is one of the largest groups in West Africa. The circular face represents the life-giving force of the sun and the horns symbolize the great power of the buffalo. This Mask # 4 is a circle 12” diameter (with 'horns' making it 20” height). It is made of hard wood, carved and painted. -
